Black Panther 2 Banned in China

Black Panther Wakanda Forever will not be released in China due to brief depictions of openly gay characters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Moreover, THR reported that its industry sources in China believe that both Black Panther 2 and Dwayne Johnson's Black Adam have "few chances" of being approved by the Chinese censorship committee.

In the past, China was a major market for Hollywood's box office, accounting for a significant portion of worldwide movie earnings. The five movies between Avengers Infinity War and Spider-Man Far From Home generated 19% of global revenue, according to Matthew Ball's report.
