James Gunn Confirms DC Elseworlds Movies will Happen

James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios, updated fans on the status of a potential Elseworlds film under his direction via Twitter.

Gunn responded to a fan who asked if he was "open to producing any Elseworlds DC projects that aren't set in the DCU" by saying that it was something that was currently under development:

"That is actively happening."

Zack Snyder's Justice League, which gave Snyder the chance to share his true vision for what the film might have originally been in 2017, gave fans a taste of what Elseworlds-style films can bring to the DC Universe. But it now appears that James Gunn is adamant about continuing that trend with future movies in addition to other confirmed films from outside the main DC timeline.
