Bad News regarding Spider-Man Beyond the Spider-Verse

It's known that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse might not come out as soon as most fans would like, but it sounds like the movie might be even later than expected.

At a recent podcast talk, Jake Johnson, who voices Peter B. Parker, said that he hasn't recorded any dialogue for the much-anticipated third movie yet. It is common to only have rough ideas or storyboards available while recording. This lets the director be flexible and improvise based on how the actors perform. This method makes sure that the animation closely matches the way the words move and how the characters look. Some movies, like Disney Animation and Pixar, record the speech first.

When asked what he's finished on the movie, Johnson said this [via CinemaBlend].

"Nothing. Well, I will say, I can’t say anything about (the release date), but I will say with recording of actors, things can go fast. So, my not recording truly means nothing. If you find out the animators hadn’t started animating, then that’s a different thing. But there’s Really no breaking news from a voiceover actor. Even if we try to break it. If they wanted to… like I did a movie for Wildwood Studios. I might be saying that wrong. If I am, I feel embarrassed. But I recorded my entire role in one day."
