Charlie Cox Addresses AVENGERS DOOMSDAY Leak

Western Australia's DFRNT Health and Fitness posted a photo of Daredevil: Born Again star Charlie Cox in December, saying he "[was] currently training for his role in the upcoming Avengers movie."

Many believed that meant the Man Without Fear would appear in Avengers: Doomsday, but others wondered if it was a mistake, especially with Daredevil: Born Agan season 2 filming.

Online scoopers said Cox plays Daredevil in the film in a small but important role. In an Entertainment Weekly interview, he clarified.

"I was there for Christmas with my family," he clarified. "And they asked if they could take a photo with me on the last day, so we did. "I'm getting ready to play Daredevil," I had told them, because I really am! I'm preparing to play Daredevil in Daredevil: Born Again season two.

"Sometimes people who aren't really in the [entertainment] world, they don't understand the terminology or whatever," Cox said, "but for some reason they posted that and they put 'getting ready for his role in the Avengers,' which is not true."


The actor recalls that the post "went mental for a minute," and he describes his feelings as "terrible." I had to call my bosses and tell them, 'I didn't say that,' of course," he continued. Why would I say that? I mean, why would I make that up? I don't believe they made it up, though. I believe they simply lost their sense of what it is. I'm not sure."
