Daredevil Born Again is no Longer a Crime Procedural

Daredevil Born Again is no Longer a Crime Procedural

Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Daredevil: Born Again, recently said that filming for the Disney+ show would start up again very soon after a break for the SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes. THR has reported that filming will start up again this Monday.

We've also heard that Philip Silvera, who is the stunt and fight coordinator for Netflix's Daredevil, has been hired to be the show's action coordinator and second unit director.

After the strikes were over, we found out that Marvel executives watched some old footage of the show while shooting was stopped and decided that the show needed a "significant creative reboot." Kevin Feige is said to have agreed to a pretty big change of direction, and head writers Chris Ord and Matt Corman, as well as directors for the rest of the shows, were fired.

The show will be changed from a court procedural to "something that aims to harken back to the gritty and violent tone of that first well-regarded series," according to THR. It also makes it clear that the show is still focused on more everyday heroes and less heavy (and expensive) visual effects.

Asaqua Cox plays Echo's Maya Lopez, and the trade says that Marvel wants to do more with her and is "already developing new ideas as it seeks to build out its street-level heroes."
