Marvel & DC Crossover Announced!

Marvel & DC Crossover Announced!

A new Marvel/DC Comics crossover was announced at the February ComicsPro retailer expo. EW has revealed which characters will be highlighted during this massive event.

Deadpool/Batman will be written and illustrated by Zeb Wells and Greg Capullo, with Batman/Deadpool by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora.

This is the first Marvel-DC crossover since JLA/Avengers in 2003, but there have been several before.

"A lot of things have to align," Marvel Entertainment President Dan Buckley states. "We usually plan our editorial schedule in advance. DC plans far in advance. Talent is essential because you want to elevate it and excite people."

Jim Lee, the president, chief creative officer, and publisher of DC Comics, has commented. This occurs once per reader generation. He responds, "You figure out why. The timing is important because you don't want to do these too frequently. You want them to feel special. Because of its complexities, determining the optimal time for both companies to merge is difficult. More coordination, collaboration, and approval are required. Business-wise, you are sharing revenue, but it is significant. "You want the story to be imaginative enough to justify the hype.

Another one-shot in 2026 is in the works, but more information will be available later.

"Anyone that's working in comics today grew up with a Marvel, DC crossover at some moment in their reading timeline history," Lee claims. "As a creator, you want to work on the biggest characters for both companies, but doing something that happens once every 15, 20 years is an opportunity you can't pass up." I anticipate that fans will see numerous intriguing projects from their favorite creators. That's all I can say.
